Dish Could Lose CBS Stations as Broadcast Contract Sets to Expire[teaser]The network has issued an ultimatum to the satellite television provider. [/teaser] Following weeks of contract negotiations, CBS has revealed plans to pull its channels from Dish Network unless a new agreement is made by Thursday evening. This could potentially leave Dish viewers without integrated access to the network, placing fans of popular programming like 'The Big Bang Theory,' 'The Good Wife,' and NFL Football out in the cold. CBS has set their final deadline for 4 PM PST on Thursday. If no deal is reached by that time, the network's stations will go dark for Dish customers. For its part, Dish says that the company is actively pursuing a new agreement with CBS and believes that there is still time for both sides to come to a satisfactory deal. The current agreement between both parties expired on November 20 but CBS previously enacted two contract extensions while negotiations have continued. With that said, the network claims that no more extensions will be issued. Rising retransmission fees that CBS earns are said to be the primary point of contention between the bickering companies. Likewise, negotiations also involve CBS's potential place within an upcoming Dish Internet subscription service. Dish also recently lost several Turner Broadcasting channels in a similar contract renewal dispute, but both parties agreed to an extension that reinstated the lost stations.
