Netflix Teases Marvel's 'The Defenders,' Streaming Premiere Set for August 18[teaser]The superhero team-up series will hit Netflix in August.[/teaser] Netflix has released a new viral teaser for its upcoming miniseries, The Defenders. Featuring security cam footage of the show's four stars in an elevator, the clip ends on the time stamp 08:18:20:17, revealing the series' August 18 premiere date. The Defenders will feature a crossover team-up between Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist as they face their biggest threat yet. Douglas Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Marco Ramirez (Orange is the New Black) are on board as showrunners. In addition, Petrie, Ramirez, Drew Goddard (The Martian, Lost, Alias), and Jeph Loeb will all serve as Executive Producers for the mini-series. The show is being produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix. Check out the teaser below! The SVOD service is now the exclusive US streaming home to nearly all of the surviving 1963 - 1989 Doctor Who episodes. Amazon Renews Football Documentary Series 'All or Nothing'[teaser]The Emmy-nominated docuseries will return for a second season.[/teaser] Amazon has announced a season two pick-up for its original documentary show, All or Nothing. The new season will focus on the LA Rams' entire 2016 season, beginning with the team's relocation back to Los Angeles and ending with the hiring of a new head coach and preparations for the 2017 season. "All or Nothing brings Amazon Prime members a deep dive into the lives of professional athletes," said Conrad Riggs, Head of Unscripted, Amazon Originals. "We are excited to highlight the LA Rams in season two, a team with a compelling story of relocation, rebuilding and reuniting with the city they once again call home." Produced by NFL Films, All or Nothing: A Season with the Los Angeles Rams is executive produced by Ross Ketover (Hard Knocks, Inside the NFL), and Pat Kelleher (Hard Knocks, 30 for 30 - Four Falls of Buffalo). Netflix Debuts Trailer for 'Girlboss' Starring Britt Robertson[teaser]The new comedy show will start streaming later this month.[/teaser] Following an initial teaser, Netflix has released a full trailer for its latest original series, Girlboss. The show is inspired by the NY Times best selling book #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso, and stars Britt Robertson. The series centers on Sophia (Britt Robertson), who began selling vintage clothes on eBay and, by the age of 28, had built the multi-million dollar fashion empire, Nasty Gal. Girlboss is created by and executive produced by Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect 1& 2, 30 Rock), who also serves as showrunner. Star Trek, one of the most iconic and influential global television franchises, returns to television 50 years after it first premiered with STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. The series will feature a new ship, new characters, and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers. Wilson is set play "Harry Mudd," the charismatic conman and intergalactic criminal who was first introduced in the original Star Trek series. The character was originally played by Roger C. Carmel. Verizon Preps 4K Ultra HD Content Tests for Fios Service[teaser]The company is planning Ultra HD trials for its TV platform.[/teaser] Verizon has announced a partnership with SES S.A. to trial Ultra HD delivery for the Fios platform. SES offers a satellite-based Ultra HD content solution with a growing collection of 4K channels. "Verizon's network is uniquely positioned to bring its customers the most innovative content solutions, including 4K/UHD." said Erin McPherson, VP of Programming & Content Strategy. "We look forward to driving the technology and delivering premier video experiences through our collaboration with SES." Under the agreement, Verizon will test and receive 4K content from SES's pre-packaged Ultra HD platform, which includes reception equipment and nine linear Ultra HD channels delivered over scalable satellite capacity.
