Apple TV Rumors Heat Up[teaser]More rumors related to the new Apple TV set-top box are trickling in, implying possible gaming, wireless router, and cable TV features. [/teaser] As previously reported, rumors indicate that Apple is getting ready to release a new version of its Apple TV set-top box later this year, and now, according to a report from 9to5Mac, possible details about the device's updated features are starting to leak. The next generation Apple TV is rumored to include new gaming capabilities and will likely be able to use iPads, iPhones and iPods as controllers. In addition, reports indicate that the set-top box could also offer some type of TV tuner integration, allowing users to connect their cable box to the device in order to watch TV through the Apple interface. Finally, the new Apple TV might also include a built-in 802.11ac wireless router. While the company is said to be testing all of these features, for now it's unclear whether or not they will make the finished product. Likewise, an official release date and pricing for the new Apple TV have not been revealed, but if these rumors pan out, Apple's updated set-top box will hit stores within the next six months. Boost Max Smartphone Available Now[teaser]ZTE's latest HD phablet is now available from Boost Mobile. [/teaser] ZTE and Boost Mobile have announced the release of the Boost Max smartphone. The mid-range mobile device features a large 5.7-inch 720p IPS display with 257PPI, giving it a tablet-like screen size. The Boost Max is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and 1 GB of RAM running Android 4.1. An 8MP rear camera and a 1MP front camera are also included. In addition, the smartphone features Dolby Digital Plus audio, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 3,200mAh battery rated for 16 hours of talk time. Finally, the company's Smart Viewer technology has been integrated as well, allowing customers to use two apps at the same time. Both 3G and 4G LTE connections are supported for the device through Sprint's mobile networks. The phablet is available now through Boost Mobile for $300 without a contract. Lenovo Releases Miix 2 Tablet[teaser]The 10-inch convertible Windows tablet is now available for purchase from Lenovo. [/teaser] Lenovo is now selling the high-end version of its Miix2 10 Tablet, well ahead of its originally anticipated March debut. A lower-end model is also expected to go on sale as well, but is not yet available for purchase from the company. The Miix 2 10 features a 10.1-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1920x1200. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z3740 Processor with 2GB of RAM all running Windows 8.1. In addition, a detachable keyboard dock is included, allowing the tablet to transform into a laptop. A 2MP front camera and a 5MP rear camera are integrated as well, and the product is rated for up to 8 hours of battery life. The Miix 2 10 is now available from Lenovo with a 128GB hard drive for $699. A $499 model is expected to arrive soon as well, and an 8-inch version of the tablet is currently on sale for $300. Panasonic Will Record 2014 Olympics Ceremony in 4K[teaser]The electronics company is supplying state-of-the-art AV equipment for the 2014 Winter Olympics and will be shooting the opening ceremony in Ultra HD. [/teaser] Panasonic has announced the delivery of a variety of audio visual components to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, including screens, projectors, and cameras. The equipment is being provided to numerous competition venues and Olympic related facilities throughout the games. New Apple TV Rumored for 2014[teaser]Rumors indicate that an updated Apple TV set-top box is in the works for later this year. Though rumors of an actual Smart TV from the company have been swirling for quite some time, this new device is expected to be an updated set-top box similar to the currently available model. The new Apple TV is rumored to launch in the first half of this year and will likely include a redesigned operating system based on iOS. LG Details Premium HD Monitor[teaser]A new high-end full HD 24-inch monitor is in the works from LG. [/teaser] LG has announced a new premium monitor, the MP76. The 24-inch display features an IPS full HD panel for superior color and viewing angles, and uses the company's sleek "Cinema Screen" design. "The MP76 strikes the perfect balance between modern design, superb picture quality and comfort-enhancing functionality," said Hyoung-sei Park, head of the IT Business Division at LG Electronics. "LG will continue to create premium monitors to meet the changing needs of consumers in the home and in the office." Along with its stylish metallic finish, the monitor includes a transparent Crystal Float Stand, making the display appear to rest suspended in the air in dark rooms.
