Denon Readies AVR-S510BT Ultra HD A/V Receiver for $279[teaser]The upcoming 4K receiver includes HDCP 2.2 support. [/teaser] Denon has detailed its latest home audio product. The AVR-S510BT ($279) is the first in a new line of receivers with integrated Bluetooth streaming. Serving as a successor to last year's S-Series, the AVR-S510BT is a 5.2 channel receiver with a 140W (6ohm, 1kHz, 1ch driven, THD10%) Power Amp. The device offers 4K/60Hz full-rate pass-through along with 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling pass-through over three HDMI connections with HDCP 2.2. 3D support, a USB port, Auto setup with room EQ, an AM/FM Radio, and built-in Bluetooth streaming are featured as well. In addition, the receiver also lets customers control the device through a Bluetooth iOS and Android Remote App. The AVR-S510BT is expected to start shipping in June. LG Demos Magnetic Wallpaper OLED Display[teaser]New OLED innovations have been unveiled. [/teaser] LG has revealed its latest OLED display technologies. At a recent Korean press event, the company demoed a new OLED panel that can stick to a customer's wall using magnets. The 55-inch display prototype measures just 0.97 mm thick and weighs only 4.2 pounds. Using a special magnetic mat, the panel can be attached to a user's wall like a high-tech wallpaper. In addition to the magnetic screen, the company also highlighted a convex OLED display geared toward digital signage and announced plans to release an OLED TV as big as 99-inches later this year. Though LG remains the only major electronics manufacturer currently developing OLED TVs, the company has once again renewed its commitment to the tech and will increase OLED production from the third quarter of this year. LG expects to sell 600,000 OLED units this year and 1.5 million units in 2016. The 55EC9300 OLED HDTV is now on sale for $3,000 and the 55EA9800 curved-screen OLED HDTV is currently on sale for $2,000. Likewise the company's 65EC9700 ($8,999), 65EG9600 ($8,999), and 55EG9600 ($5,499) 4K Ultra HD OLED displays are also available for purchase. Yamaha Reveals New RX-V Series Receivers with 4K HDCP 2.2 Support, Prices Start at $450[teaser]The company has announced its latest A/V receivers. [/teaser] Yamaha has detailed four new additions to its RX-V line of network A/V receivers. The RX-V779 ($850), RX-V679 ($650), RX-V579 ($550), and RX-V479 ($450) are expected to hit stores later this month. "The RX-V 79 Series gives consumers what they value most in home entertainment — flexibility, wide device connectivity and the best possible audio and video quality," said Bob Goedken, general manager, AV Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "This approach has been key to the RX-V Series' best-selling status in the industry over the years–and our enhancements this year in each of these areas will keep these AV receivers at the front of the pack." The RX-V779, RX-V679 and RX-V579 are all 7.2 channel receivers, while the RX-V479 is a 5.1 channel receiver. All four models feature 4K Ultra HD support with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compliant connections. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, and Spotify Connect are integrated as well. Plex Media Streaming App Heads to TiVo DVRs on June 8[teaser]The media server app will let TiVo subscribers stream content to the big screen. [/teaser] TiVo has announced the addition of the Plex app to its DVR lineup. Plex will be available on the company's TiVo Roamio, TiVo Mini, and TiVo Premiere devices on June 8. Plex is a media center app that allows users to sort and stream their video, music, and picture collections on the big screen. With the Plex app for TiVo, customers will be able to play content from cloud sources, local hard drives, and networked computers right on their televisions through their TiVo DVRs. In addition to playback, the Plex app also automatically adds movie posters, plot summaries, cover art, and descriptions for content. Other features include the ability to fling media from the Plex Mobile app to the TiVo app and media sharing. Panasonic 4K Smart TVs with Firefox OS Begin Global Rollout[teaser]The Firefox-powered smart TVs are now hitting stores worldwide. Qualcomm Updates AllPlay Wireless Audio Platform with New Music Streaming Features[teaser]The audio streaming technology now offers several new features for compatible devices. [/teaser] Qualcomm has announced an upgrade to its AllPlay smart media platform. New features include Bluetooth to Wi-Fi re-streaming, custom audio settings, and optimized synchronization. Chromecast Adds CBS All Access, Fox Now, HGTV, and More Streaming Apps[teaser]Several more media services are now available through the streaming dongle. [/teaser] Google has announced the addition of several apps for the Chromecast. The latest collection of services includes CBS All Access, Fox Now, FXNow, HGTV, Pluto TV, and Haystack. CBS All Access is a stand-alone subscription streaming service that offers next-day streaming for new episodes of 15 popular shows and a library of 6,500 on-demand episodes, including content from current programs like 'The Good Wife' and 'NCIS,' and classic series like 'The Andy Griffith Show' and 'I Love Lucy.' Likewise, customers will be able to watch live local CBS broadcasts through the service in a growing number of markets. Meanwhile, Fox Now, FXNow, and HGTV Watch allow users to stream on-demand content from each network. Finally, Pluto TV includes over 100 curated channels of news, music, sports, web and TV shows, and Haystack is a news app that keeps users informed about current and global events.
