Triad Unveils New Dolby Atmos Speakers for $1,500[teaser]New Atmos-enabled speakers have been revealed. [/teaser] Triad has announced the release of its latest home audio speakers. The InRoom Silver LR-H is a Dolby Atmos left/right up-firing speaker. The speaker uses two 6.5-inch front woofers and a 1-inch front tweeter. In addition, the model includes four 3-inch full-range neodymium height drivers that are used to bounce sound off of the ceiling in order to simulate overhead audio. The front drivers are rated for a frequency range of 80Hz to 20kHz. Meanwhile, the top drivers are rated for 130Hz to 20kHz. The Silver model now joins the previously released Bronze LR-H model. ViewSonic Readies 1080p 3D LightStream Projectors, Prices Start at $943[teaser]Three new projector models have been detailed. [/teaser] ViewSonic has revealed three additions to its LightStream projector lineup. The PJD7825HD, PJD7830HDL, and PJD7835HD are all geared toward home theater and business use. "The LightStream 1080p projector series is packed with smart technologies that bring HD content to life for home entertainment or enable rich multimedia presentations in the boardroom, conference room, or classroom," said Erik Willey, product marketing director at ViewSonic Americas. "The Full HD 1080p resolution, sleek design, high brightness levels and wireless streaming capabilities make this series the go-to projector solution for a wide range of applications." All three projectors feature full HD 1080p resolutions. Likewise, the devices offer SuperColor technology for more accurate color, SonicExpert enhanced sound with integrated speakers, and 3D support for 3D Blu-ray players. Denon Reveals New A/V Receivers with DTS:X & Dolby Atmos Support, Prices Start at $479[teaser]Two new A/V receivers with next-gen audio support have been detailed. [/teaser] Denon has announced the latest additions to its home audio gear lineup. The AVR-S710W ($479) and AVR-S910W ($579) will both support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio formats. Both models are 7.2 channel receivers with HDMI 2.0a connections and HDCP 2.2 compliancy. Likewise, both receivers include built-in Dolby Atmos support and Denon will offer a DTS:X firmware upgrade in the fall for 5.1.2 speaker setups. The AVR-S710W is rated at 7x80w into 8 ohms, 20 Hz - 20 kHz. Meanwhile, the AVR-S910W is rated at 7x95w into 8 ohms, 20 Hz - 20 kHz. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and AirPlay are integrated as well. Marriott Now Offers Netflix Streaming in Select Hotels[teaser]Guests can now sign into their Netflix accounts on hotel TVs. [/teaser] Following a previous trial run, Marriott and Netflix have announced a partnership that will bring the streaming service directly to hotel rooms. The deal allows hotel guests to access Netflix through an app integrated into Marriott TVs. "Our collaboration with Netflix responds to changing consumer preferences in the way our guests access and watch content, while recognizing the leading role Netflix is playing in driving this transformation," said Matthew Carroll, vice president brand management, Marriott Hotels. "Because consumers are choosing to take their streaming content with them when they travel, Marriott Hotels is making the industry's first rollout of Netflix a priority." Marriott is now the first hotel chain to offer direct access to Netflix. With the modified app guests only need to sign in once during their stay, and then their account information is automatically cleared upon checkout. The service is currently available in six locations: New York Marriott East Side, San Jose Marriott, Princeton Marriott, Newport Marriott, Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Solana, and Bethesda Marriott Suites. In addition, Netflix support will expand to Marriott Marquis Washington, DC, San Francisco Marriott Marquis, Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Dayton Marriott, San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, and Anaheim Marriott this summer. Marriott also plans to bring Netflix to 100 of its properties by the end of 2015, and to most of its more than 300 US properties by the end of 2016. Sony Adds iPad Support for PlayStation Vue Cloud-TV Service[teaser]The internet TV platform now has a mobile option. The service is now available on the device in Chicago, New York and Philadelphia. in order to sign up for the PlayStation Vue iPad mobile app, customers still need to establish a home location through a PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4. The service offers live and on-demand content from more than 85 channels, including popular stations from CBS, FOX, Viacom, Turner, Discovery Communications, Scripps Networks Interactive, and AMC. The platform enables viewers to easily search through available programming with an intuitive interface and convenient personal recommendations. In addition, if customers tag a favorite series they will be given cloud access to episodes of that show for 28 days with no storage restrictions. [/teaser] Onkyo has announced the release of several new affordable Dolby Atmos enabled audio components and speaker systems, including its cheapest Atmos receiver so far. The lineup includes two receivers, one home-theater-in-a-box, and one speaker package. The TX-SR444 ($499) is a 7.1 channel Dolby Atmos receiver with 115 W per channel. Meanwhile, the step-up TX-NR545 ($599) is a 7.2 channel network Dobly Atmos receiver with 115 W per channel. Both models include HDMI 2.0 connections and HDCP 2.2 support for 4K Ultra HD playback. In addition, Onkyo is also releasing the HT-S5800 ($799) Dolby Atmos home-theater-in-a-box system that features a 115W/Ch A/V receiver and a 5.1.2 setup with up-firing front speakers.
