Integra Unveils New Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Receivers, Prices Start at $800[teaser]Several receivers with next-gen audio support have been revealed. [/teaser] Integra has detailed the latest additions to its home theater lineup. The DTR-40.7 ($1,400), DTR-30.7 ($1,100), and DTR-20.7 ($800) all include immersive object-based audio capabilities. All three receivers are 7.2 channel models with 4K HDR video support and HDCP 2.2 compliancy. The premium DTR-40.7 is Dolby Atmos-enabled and DTS:X ready (via a future firmware upgrade) and boasts 175 watts per channel at 6 Ohms, 110 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms, and a premium 384 kHz / 32-bit hi-grade AKM 4458 DAC. Meanwhile, the DTR-30.7 is also Dolby Atmos-enabled and DTS:X ready, and offers 100 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms and 170 Watts at 6 Ohms. Finally, the Dolby Atmos-enabled DTR-20.7 offers 65 Watts per Channel at 8 Ohms and 115 Watts at 6 Ohms. An exact release date for the receivers has not been announced. HBO Now Arrives on Android Devices and Amazon Fire Tablets[teaser]HBO's standalone streaming service is now available on more platforms. [/teaser] HBO and Amazon have announced the arrival of HBO Now for Android devices (Android OS 4.1 and later) and current generation Fire tablets. The premium streaming service initially launched exclusively on Apple devices. VIZIO & Sony Announce Product Support for Dolby AC-4 Object-Based Audio Platform[teaser]Both companies have pledged support for the upcoming audio technology. [/teaser] Dolby has announced a partnership with VIZIO and Sony to incorporate Dolby AC-4 audio into their future products. The next-gen audio format is geared toward broadcast TV and streaming services. "We are pleased to be working with Sony Visual Products and VIZIO to bring products with Dolby AC-4 technology to market, and are proud to count them among a growing list of CE manufacturers, SOC providers, and professional partners who support Dolby AC-4," said Giles Baker, Senior Vice President, Broadcast Business Group, Dolby. "Dolby AC-4 has already been standardized by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute and DVB. The upgrade offers sound quality enhancements, support for a simpler home theater setup, and new music streaming options. Likewise, the upgrade also includes new Google Play Music features like curated radio stations, recommended radio stations, the option to add and remove tracks or albums from your library, and auto playlists based on activities like rating tracks. Comcast Readies New Streaming TV Service for $15 Per Month[teaser]The cable company is offering a new way to watch live TV. [/teaser] Comcast has detailed its latest TV watching option. Dubbed "Stream," the upcoming web-based platform allows users to watch live TV channels on their mobile devices and computers without a traditional cable subscription. Stream will only be available for Xfinity internet customers and will provide in-home playback for around a dozen live networks, including all of the major broadcast channels and HBO. Likewise, the service will also offer a library of on-demand content, TV Everywhere access, and a cloud DVR to record programs. The app will support tablets, smartphones, and computers. Comcast Stream will initially launch in Boston this summer and will then expand to Chicago and Seattle. The company plans to cover all of its markets by early 2016.
