Apple TV Adds Adobe Lightroom App for Photo Viewing & Sharing[teaser]The new photo app is now available on the Apple TV set-top box. [/teaser] Apple and Adobe have announced the addition of Lightroom to the Apple TV app store. With Lightroom, users can view their picture collections on their TVs. The Lightroom app for Apple TV allows customers to view and share all of their latest photos and edits synced from their Lightroom software, including photos uploaded via Lightroom CC on desktops, Lightroom on mobile, or Lightroom on the web. Once synced, customers can quickly navigate through all their images on their big screen TVs. Likewise, users can share their photos one by one in a slideshow, along with the option to stop and zoom in on specific images for more detail. Adobe Lightroom for Apple TV requires a 4th Generation Apple TV and a Creative Cloud subscription to login. The app is now available for download from the Apple TV app store free of charge. Outside of Lightroom, the Apple TV also recently launched a NASA streaming app, the Sling TV streaming platform, and the Tribeca Shortlist streaming service. Likewise, Apple recently announced an update with new Siri features and a single sign-on option for the media player. As part of the update, the Apple TV will receive several new Siri features, including the ability to search across more apps, YouTube search, topic search, and the option to tune into more live channels. Likewise, this fall users will also gain access to a single sign-on option, allowing customers to authenticate all the video channels from their pay-TV providers by signing in just once. Netflix Readies 'Mystery Science Theater 3000' Reboot with Joel Hodgson, Felicia Day & Jonah Ray[teaser]The cult favorite show is returning for new episodes on Netflix. [/teaser] Netflix has announced plans to stream the upcoming reboot of 'Mystery Science Theater 3000.' The show will be available exclusively through the streaming platform in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Mystery Science Theater 3000's national broadcast life began in 1989. Set on the Satellite of Love where a human host is trapped by mad scientists with his two robot sidekicks and forced to watch an endless run of B movies. The format proved to be popular, and during its eleven years and 198 episodes on the Comedy Channel and Sci-Fi Channel, it attained a loyal fan base and critical acclaim, including a Peabody Award and two Emmys® nominations. The Netflix reboot was initiated by a successful, record breaking crowdfunding campaign by creator Joel Hodgson and Shout! Factory through Kickstarter. Original creator Joel Hodgson will be joined by comedian Jonah Ray ("Jonah Heston") as the new host and Felicia Day ('Geek & Sundry') as "Kinga Forrester." Elliott Kalan ('The Daily Show') will serve as the head writer for the reboot, with Joel McHale and Dan Harmon also listed as additional writers. Amazon Offers Sneak Peek at 'The Man in the High Castle' Season Two[teaser]New footage from the show's upcoming second season has been revealed. NFL Network & NFL RedZone Head to PlayStation Vue Streaming TV Service[teaser]The NFL is rushing toward Sony's streaming TV platform. [/teaser] Sony has announced plans to add NFL Network & NFL RedZone to its PlayStation Vue service. Both channels will be available in time for the NFL regular season starting this fall. PlayStation Vue offers live and on demand content from a growing collection of channels. The platform enables viewers to easily search through available programming with an intuitive interface and convenient personal recommendations. In addition, if customers tag a favorite series they will be given cloud access to episodes of that show for 28 days with no storage restrictions. Likewise, PlayStation Vue offers up to five simultaneous streams across different devices, including up to three mobile devices outside of the home. With NFL Network, football fans can watch Thursday Night Football games, and popular shows like 'NFL GameDay Morning,' 'A Football Life,' and 'Timeline,' along with news and fantasy coverage. Meanwhile, NFL RedZone allows viewers to watch the big moments from NFL games on Sunday afternoons with cuts to major plays from stadium to stadium as they happen. CBS Debuts New Teaser for 'Star Trek: Discovery,' Streaming Premiere Set for January 2017[teaser]The new streaming show is setting a course for CBS All Access in 2017. Gorilla Glass 5 offers new breakthroughs in protection for mobile screens against breakage from everyday drops. "With each successive generation of Corning Gorilla Glass, we have taken cover glass technology to new levels. Gorilla Glass 5 is no exception, extending Corning's advantage in drop performance over competitive glasses," said John Bayne, vice president and general manager, Corning Gorilla Glass. "With many real-world drops occurring from between waist and shoulder height, we knew improving drop performance would be an important and necessary advancement." Gorilla Glass 5 has been evaluated in rigorous lab tests and the results show that the cover glass can survive drops onto rough surfaces up to four times better than competitive glass designs. During testing, the glass was able to survive up to 80 percent of the time when dropped face down from 1.6 meters. Along with drop protection, Corning also promises that Gorilla Glass 5 will continue to provide the damage resistance, optical clarity, and touch sensitivity that the brand is known for. According to Corning, Gorilla Glass has now been used on more than 4.5 billion devices, including more than 1,800 product models across 40 major brands. Netflix Announces 'Disjointed' from Executive Producer Chuck Lorre[teaser]The 'Big Bang Theory' creator's latest comedy is coming to Netflix. [/teaser] Netflix has ordered a new show from executive producer Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Mike & Molly, Two and a Half Men) called 'Disjointed.' The half-hour multi-camera comedy will star Academy Award and Emmy winner Kathy Bates. 'Disjointed' is a workplace comedy starring Kathy Bates as a lifelong advocate for legalization who’s finally living her dream as the owner of an L.A.–area cannabis dispensary. Joining her are three budtenders, her twenty-something son and a deeply troubled security guard. All of them are more or less constantly high. David Javerbaum ('The Daily Show,' 'An Act of God') also serves as an executive producer/writer for the new series along with Lorre, from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros.
