Dolby and AMC Schedule Fan Events for 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' at Dolby Cinema at AMC Theaters Nationwide[teaser]Fans visiting Dolby Cinema at AMC locations can attend a magical opening night for the upcoming film.[/teaser] Dolby and AMC have announced plans to host special fan events for the premiere of 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' at Dolby Cinema at AMC Theaters around the country. The events are scheduled for Thursday, November 17 at 6 p.m. at all Dolby Cinema at AMC locations playing the film. "Movie-goers are ecstatic about returning to JK Rowling's Wizarding World with the release of FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM," said Elizabeth Frank, Executive Vice President and Chief Content and Programming Officer, AMC. "The theatrical experience of being transported back to this World on opening night in Dolby Cinema at AMC is one guests won’t want to miss." As part of the special fan event, guests will receive a Newt Scamander replica wand and commemorative lanyard, along with the opportunity to watch the film in Dolby Cinema. Dolby Cinema uses the Dolby Vision laser projection system, which delivers high dynamic range images with expanded colors and enhanced contrast. Amazon Readies Second Season of 'One Mississippi' Starring Tig Notaro[teaser]The comedy series from creators Tig Notaro and Diablo Cody will return for a second season.[/teaser] Amazon has announced a second season order for its original show 'One Mississippi.' An exact release date has not been announced yet, but the new season is expected to premiere in 2017 exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in the US, UK, Germany, Austria, and Japan. "Making a show as comic and tragic as One Mississippi is a risk. Pulling it off with such intelligence and nuance is rare," said Joe Lewis, Head of Comedy and Drama, Amazon Studios. Sony Partners with Nokia for Virtual Reality Video Content Production and Distribution[teaser]The companies are teaming up to offer VR content.[/teaser] Sony and Nokia have announced a new multi-year worldwide agreement which will allow Sony Pictures to use Nokia's comprehensive OZO solution to capture, create, edit, and distribute VR content. In addition, the studio will also integrate the OZO Player SDK into Sony's Privilege Plus app on Google Play. "VR is an exploding medium that is rapidly changing how we communicate and bringing a deeper connection to how we experience content," said Paul Melin, vice president of Digital Media at Nokia Technologies. "We're thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and its talented storytellers to apply our technology and create experiences only possible with OZO – like 3D 360 live VR broadcast." As part of the deal, Nokia will work with Sony to offer OZO hardware and software tools and technology to help create virtual reality content. Rosario Dawson, Elodie Yung, Deborah Ann Woll, and More Join Cast of Marvel's 'The Defenders'[teaser]More cast members have been confirmed for the upcoming superhero team-up series.[/teaser] Marvel and Netflix have revealed several cast additions for 'The Defenders.' The ensemble features a large group of returning supporting players from 'Daredevil,' 'Jessica Jones,' 'Luke Cage,' and 'Iron Fist.' Per the show's Twitter account, the upcoming miniseries will include Deborah Ann Woll, Simone Missick, Elden Henson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Rachael Taylor, Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn, Jessica Henwick, and Elodie Yung -- all reprising their respective roles from various Marvel series on Netflix. The group now joins previously announced stars Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones. Likewise, Marvel also recently revealed that Sigourney Weaver will join the cast as an unspecified villain. Netflix Set to Stream South Korean Disaster Film 'Pandora' in 2017[teaser]The upcoming disaster flick will stream globally through Netflix next year.[/teaser] Netflix has announced an international licensing agreement with Next Entertainment World for their movie 'Pandora.' The South Korean nuclear disaster film comes from CAC Entertainment and director Park Jung-Woo. In 'Pandora,' disaster strikes a nuclear power plant in a small, quiet town when an earthquake unexpectedly hits. The Pirates star Kim Nam-gil plays Jae-hyuk, a man who risks his life to save his family and country from the impending atomic explosion. The film also stars Kim Young-ae (The Attorney), Jung Jin-young (Miracle of Cell No. 7) and Kim Dae-myeong (Misaeng).
