The company has announced two new affordable Windows tablet models.
Toshiba has detailed a new addition to its tablet lineup, the Encore 2. Serving as the successor to the previously released Encore tablet, the upcoming Encore 2 will be available in 8-inch and 10-inch versions and will run Windows 8.1.
The Encore 2 is powered by an Intel Atom Z3735F quad-core CPU, 1GB or 2GB RAM options, and 32GB or 64GB storage options. Both the 8-inch and 10-inch models feature a 1280x800 IPS display, and each tablet includes an integrated 5MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front camera. In addition, the Encore 2 also offers a MicroSD slot, WiFi support, and Bluetooth capabilities. Finally, the 10-inch model will include a micro HDMI port and an optional keyboard attachment as well.
The Encore 2 will launch in July, starting at a suggested retail price of $200 for the 8-inch base model, and $270 for 10-inch base model.
