Nimble TV Aims to Stream Your TV to Wherever You Are[teaser]The specifics of the service are a touch vague, but there's definitely some potential. [/teaser] Getting TV to wherever you are in the world isn't an easy task, but Nimble TV is hoping to change that. Their service will provide you with all the TV you want no matter where you are, and that's not all. They'll let you record up to 10,000 hours of content, and social features make recording the things your friends are watching simple. Nimble TV is trying to work with cable and satellite services with this one, instead of against them like other similar offerings. They'll set you up a subscription with a compatible service, arrange payment into one bill, and let you arrange bundles to your liking. A beta is slated to roll out in New York City, with a larger rollout to follow. Source: EngadgetPosted Wed Apr 25, 2012 at 09:00 AM PDT by: -

TiVo Renames Premiere Lineup – Products Remain the Same[teaser]Instead of the Premiere XL and Premiere Elite, they're called the XL2 and XL4. [/teaser] First you had to get used to saying Istanbul instead of Constantinople and now this. TiVo has renamed the Premiere XL and Premiere Elite to the Premiere XL2 and Premiere XL4 respectively. The numbers, of course, refer to the amount of tuners built in to the device. According to Engadget's Daniel Cooper, the renaming is an effort from TiVo to avoid confusion in its product lineup. Renaming the Premiere Elite makes sense enough, but calling the Premiere XL the Premiere XL2 isn't exactly straightforward. Source: EngadgetPosted Mon Apr 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM PDT by: -

Regal and Sony Bring Subtitle Glasses to Movie Theaters[teaser]The glasses, designed to help hearing impaired moviegoers, will be compatible with both 2D and 3D movies. [/teaser] There's great news for moviegoers with hearing disabilities today as Regal Entertainment and Sony have teamed up to finally bring subtitle glasses to movie theaters in the States. Simply stated, the glasses add a line of closed captioned text for those wearing them. The location of the text is adjustable on the glasses, so you can move it to avoid blocking the screen. 3D isn't a problem for the new subtitle glasses either. Simply attaching a clip-on filter to the glasses will provide a 3D experience while the text stays nice and clear. These glasses will start hitting theaters this month and will be available in a majority of Regal theaters by early 2013. Source: EngadgetPosted Fri Apr 20, 2012 at 07:00 AM PDT by:
