New 'Paragon' Character Adds Fighting Game-Style Melee Combos To MOBA

Paragon Crunch

A literal punching machine.

Epic Games' 'Paragon' has revealed its latest fighter, Crunch, joining the open beta this week.

Crunch's move set seems to add a layer of melee combos, a la 2-D fighter games, into the 'Paragon' MOBA framework. Crunch's main abilities—creatively named Forward Crunch, Left Crunch, and Right Crunch—can be chained together to quickly whittle down opponents' health bars. His other ability, Re-Crunch, allows him to repeat the last ability he used.

Re-Crunch also includes two passive effects. The first passive effect "empowers" every third ability Crunch uses with a bonus effect, such as added crowd control. The second passive effect allows Crunch to decrease ability cooldown times by landing basic attacks, letting him jump back into his combos all the sooner.

Crunch will be making his debut in 'Paragon' on Tuesday, November 15. You can see him in action in the teaser video below.
