Google Play users can now pre-order select titles while they are still in theaters.
Google has announced the addition of a new pre-order service that lets customers reserve theatrical releases before they hit Blu-ray or digital distribution. The new feature is now live.
All customers need to do is browse the company's list of available pre-orders, and choose the title that interests them. After purchasing the movie, users will receive an email receipt and the film will be added to the "My Movies" section along with related info, including a release date. Finally, when the films is available, customers will get a confirmation email and the movie will automatically be added to their library.
The current list of theatrical pre-orders includes titles like 'Gone Girl,' 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' and 'The Maze Runner,' with pre-order prices ranging from $12.99 to $19.99. For now, the service is only available to US customers, but the feature is expected to expand to more markets as well.
