Valve Reveals Monkey King, The First Original 'Dota 2' Character, At The International 2016

Well, original for 'Dota' anyway.

A new character for 'Dota 2' will be making his way into the MOBA, as Valve announced the addition of the Monkey King at The International 2016.

Those watching the 'Dota 2' tournament were treated to a reveal video for the upcoming character based on the figure of Sun Wukong from Chinese literature. The Monkey King will be the first character in 'Dota 2' that was not included in the original 'Defense of the Ancients' mod.

Also announced was the upcoming character Underlord, an adaptation of the original mod's Pit Lord that is scheduled to be included in the game August 23.
