Yamaha Details SRT-700 TV Speaker Base, MSRP Set at $350

The space-saving speaker will be available later this month. 

Yamaha has revealed its latest home audio product. The SRT-700 TV Speaker Base is a compact audio solution designed to sit right under a customer's flat-screen TV.

"The SRT-700 is the perfect solution for those who want the same high-quality viewing experience in their bedrooms or dens as they have in their main TV rooms—complete with clear dialog and pronounced surround effects," said Bob Goedken, general manager, AV Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "This model fits anywhere, while delivering sound that is substantially better than any flat screen TV alone can provide. Its simple set up and operation will seal the deal for many considering a bedroom or den audio upgrade."

The Speaker Base is designed for displays that are 42-inches and smaller. The device features two full-range speaker drivers, two subwoofers, and two bass reflex ports. In addition, the speaker offers Bluetooth connectivity, Yamaha Home Theater Controller app support for iOS and Android devices, and the company's AIR SURROUND XTREME virtual surround sound technology.

Yamaha's SRT-700 TV Speaker Base will start shipping this month for a suggested retail price of $350.
