The glasses-style viewing solution is an interesting step forward for 3D.
While other companies are working on the active and passive debate, Westinghouse has a pair of glasses that's decidedly different. Their new personal media viewer prototype is the first to bring 3D into the mix.
If you aren't familiar with personal media viewers, they look a bit like the glasses Geordi La Forge wears, but instead of allowing the blind to see, they allow you to watch movies in total privacy.
Westinghouse says the new prototype – which debuts at CES next month – uses technology originally developed for the US Army to provide the widest field of view ever on a personal media viewer.
We'll certainly be interested to find out more, and hopefully get a hands on with the device at the Consumer Electronics Show next month.
