Another theater chain is now offering its own movie ticket service.
Regal has announced the launch of Regal Unlimited. The subscription service allows users to see unlimited standard format movies at Regal theaters for a monthly fee.
"We are excited to debut our Regal Unlimited subscription plan. This is the program moviegoers have been craving--one that is truly unlimited," said Ken Thewes, Chief Marketing Officer at Regal. "Every movie fan is going to love Regal Unlimited because it is the ONLY cinema subscription plan that offers the ability to watch as many movies as you want, whenever you want."
Regal Unlimited is now available via the Regal mobile app. The service allows subscribers to see as many standard format movies as they want with no blackout dates. Three tiers are currently offered based on theater locations, with certain cities only supported by the more expensive plans. Here's a rundown of the current subscription options:

In addition to the monthly price, advanced ticket reservations made via the app are also subject to a reduced convenience fee of $0.50 (plus applicable taxes). Likewise, a surcharge will be applied if a user decides to upgrade to a special format like ScreenX, 4DX, IMAX, RPX, or 3D. And beyond unlimited standard tickets, the service also includes a 10% concessions discount on all food and non-alcoholic beverages; a free large popcorn and large drink on a user's birthday; and all of the Benefits of the Regal Crown Club.
"Regal Unlimited is the best value option for movie fans with plans starting as low as $18 a month," explained Kelly Hawkins, Vice President of Loyalty at Regal. "With all the benefits of the plan including unlimited movies, discounts at concessions, birthday bonuses and reduced fees, Regal Unlimited is truly limitless."
Regal Unlimited is now poised to compete directly with AMC's similar movie ticket subscription service, AMC A-List.
