The popular streaming dongle now offers HBO GO support.

Joining its ever expanding lineup of apps, Google has announced the addition of HBO GO to its Chromecast feature set. The streaming service provides HBO subscribers with access to many of the premium cable network's popular shows and movies.

Chromecast capability is now available through the HBO GO app on Android and iOS devices as well as the web. Through the app and Chromecast, users can stream original shows like 'Game of Thrones,' 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Girls,' and 'True Blood' directly to their TVs. In addition, the app includes a growing library of popular movies and documentaries.

First released back in July, the Chromecast is an inexpensive streaming dongle that allows consumers to stream video and music to their TVs with their smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The device also supports numerous apps, including Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, Pandora, and Google Play Movies and Music.

The Google Chromecast is available for a suggested retail price of $35, and the HBO GO app with Chromecast support can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store and the Goggle Play Store.
