Samsung Drops Price on Older 3D Glasses

Posted May 10, 2011 at 07:00 AM PDT by Dick Ward

In addition to new, cheaper 3D glasses, Samsung is dropping prices on the old ones.

The price of active tech 3D glasses has historically been a big problem for customers. In addition to paying a few grand for a brand new 3D television, those that want 3D have had to pay between $100 and $200 for new glasses - a steep fee to be sure.

Last month, Samsung cut the suggested price of the SSG-3100GB down to $50, but that was just the start. Last week, the company also announced a cut on their higher end glasses.

The SSG-3300CR and SSG-3300GR were cut down from $180 to an easier to deal with $130. The SSG-3700CF got an even bigger cut - down to $150 from an original price of $220.
