A survey recently released from Neilson reveals that 33% of US households have at least one HDTV.

This survey uses data gathered from consumers in February of 2009. About 28 percent of households receive HD programming, slightly less than the number of households with an HDTV.

The report shows that the average household has 2.6 TVs, and suggests that rather than disposing of older TVs, consumers move them to other rooms in their houses. The report even goes so far as to outline where consumers keep their TVs: 67% are in the living room or family room, and if a second TV is brought into the house, the older TV is most often moved to the master bedroom.
